In it for the right reason means we are not in it to make a quick buck. We believe in preserving and building great businesses, great products and great places to work. 

 

Venture capital and private equity firms invest in a portfolio of companies and focus on maximizing short term returns. Holding companies have multiple divisions and focus on creating a return for the parent company. While venture capital, private equity and large holding companies have an approach focused on financial returns, we’ve built an approach focused on long-term growth. 

 

We focus our attention on preserving and building a single great business. This means that we make a long-term commitment to partner with the existing team. The exact role of the current ownership and management team is flexible based on their needs, but our role is dedicated to the long-term success of the company.

 

We structure transactions based on the needs of the current ownership rather than creating unnecessary complexity to meet the needs of institutional investors or to limit risk and liability. We finance our transactions through a network of like-minded investors instead of financial institutions, endowment funds or a parent company that have almost exclusively financial motives.
